Tsontakis's work will be played by its dedicatees, the four members of the Emerson String Quartet, the first resident ensemble of its kind in the Chamber Music Society's 15 year history, and a group that many critics and listeners would rank with the finest in the world. This afternoon, the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center will present the world premiere of George Tsontakis's String Quartet ''Emerson'' at Alice Tully Hall.
